Free Coding classes for 5 to 9 year old -- week 2 update

Following on from my LinkedIn post last week, I had several of the parents contact me to train their kids to learn the coding basics.  I have accepted a few additional kids and conducted the first session on Saturday so that they can get up to speed when they attend the regular session for week 2 on Monday.

There were 12 kids who attended week 2 course.  This week we covered what Pair Progranning is.  What the Do's and Don'ts are in a Pair Programming scenario.  Now the kids started using blockly to drag and drop and get the object move and get to the destination.  I have also introduced the concept of how to debug step by step and how to use the Repeat block.  Kids were quite comfortable when using the repeat block.

In the class we started Lesson 6 and the home work was to complete all the exercises in Lesson 6.

Here are some photos fro the session.

Coding basics class for 5 to 9 year old kids

Yesterday I have started my first round of technology classes for kids.  This time I have started coding classes for 5 to 9 year old kids.  The inspiration came from the interest showed by my 5 year old daughter Veda  when I introduced her to code.org

I introduced code.org basics to about 8 kids in an online class.  They clearly understood the 3 rules when they start these classes which are outlined as below

  • Ask your parents if you want to go online
  • Only talk to people you know on the internet
  • Stick to places that are right for you on the internet

The parents were helping their kids to get them signed up and teaching them how to share their screen if they are stuck.

All the kids enjoyed the session yesterday.  I am planning to continue this for 6 weeks and see what they understand.  Some photos from the session below

My presentation at Conferenz event -- 2020 Management Accountant Conference

Today I did two presentations to an entirely  different audience at one of the Conferenz events -- 2020 Management Accountant Conference.  As the conference event indicates, the audience were Accountants and Management Accountants and other financial professionals.

I had two sessions to talk about as below -- About Artificial Intelligence and Business Intelligence.

I really enjoyed presenting about Azure Cognitive Services and show off Power BI as most of the audience didn't know much about these tools.  Had a great interaction with the audience and it is a really good feeling that they have learnt something new and I could see the excitement in a lot of them as they got to know more about these tools.

Some of the photos from the event below.

Difinity 2020 Day 1

Difinity2020 Day 1 was an amazing day at Cordis.  It started with Reza introducing the conference followed by the Keynote Power Platform demos by Charles Sterling, Ken Puls, Leila Etaati, John Liu, Heidi Hastings.

Highlight of the sessions that I attended was  Getting-hands-on-with-microsoft-power-virtual-agents  By Charles Sterling

In this session all the attendees got to build a #lowcode bot and publish it within 30 min.

I had an opportunity to present my session Build-your-first-model-with-azure-machine-learning-services   The audience were very responsive to my questions and I am confident that they learnt how to build a Linear Regressoin Model in the 45 min. session.

Thanks Charles Sterling for providing the  gifts for my most interactive participants.

I am also thankful to Ravit Jain of @Packt Publication for providing me with the books titled 'AI Carsh Course' written by Hadelin-de-ponteves to be given to 4 attendees.  This book is really good for those who are starting to understand what Artificial Intelligence is and would like to know about it.

A review of the book "The Art of CRM By Max Fatouretchi"

Are you thinking of starting a new CRM Project ?
Are you thinking of upgrading your CRM ?
Are you thinking of just learning what lies in a CRM ?
Are you planning to architect any CRM solutions ?

If the answer to any of the above is "YES", then read on ...

This is a review on the book  titled .... "The Art of CRM by Max Fatouretchi "

In this book Max starts off explaining what the key ingredients are for a successful CRM design and he says that there is no single method that can be used in all CRM projects.

Then he goes on and explains how critical it is to know your customer and build a strong 360-degree client view, to enable the customer to improve their product offering and untimely improve their operational costs and revenue.

He also emphasises that the the CRM design that you conceptualise should reflect both the present and future architectural approach you take towards your processes, applications, data, security and deployment decisions that in turn are driven by business requirement.

Based on his vast experience, he also outlined that the Agile methodology has proved to be best suited for modern CRM projects with the technological advances such as AI, Big data and Machine Learning.

He has neatly explained with the case studies and use case examples that AI in combination with CRM processes will improve customer experience and business insights.

In the last chapter, he concluded that the future of CRM will be more like a Lego Model -- consisting of colourful, interlocking, functional modules accompanying an array of gears, connectors and other services that are well integrated.

If you would like to implement a successful cost-effective CRM platform, then I definitely recommend to read this book
